News Out of Africa is a weblog written by a young woman who has studied and worked in East and West Africa. Operating under the moniker Amani (peace in Swahili), the author will use this site as a place to post news, relate opinions, and forge connections. Content will relate to Africa.
Amani’s main interests lie in the area of human rights, and more specifically in forced migration, public health, disability, and gender violence. On a lighter note, she also enjoys learning about and discussing travel, DSLR photography, documentaries, and contemporary nonfiction.
I would love to hear from you, so please feel free to leave comments or suggestions on my blog! I’ll do my best to reply back in a timely manner, but please remember to keep any comments or discussion polite and civil.

After having a blog for too long without a list of links, I’ve finally put up a ‘Web Readings’ section on the side bar of http://www.ugandascarlettlion.blogspot.com and I’ve linked to you.
Thanks!
